Organizing shall pay off.

My beloved friend and I had spent countless hours emailing to one another about different thoughts that cross our minds. That’s why I can say being away from Feker Belete does more good than harm. No matter how much I love this woman, having her be miles away serve a good purpose. We’ve spent hours and hours talking, arguing and laughing about everything that has entered our minds. Politics, Love, Relationships, Philosophy, Religion, Economics, Ethiopia… the list is endless. Our talks are never recorded, but our emails exist – and those emails, I intend to make a reminder. A reminder to what we believe in, a reminder of the kind of live we want to lead, a reminder of our hearts and minds at this stage of our lives, a reminder to the promise we’ve made ourselves – the promise to be who we are, who we truly are.
One thing we both have forever been scared off – Scared to the point of sleepless nights is of being a “menga” among the “mengas” – being mediocre individuals. We’re constantly reminding each other of this fact. We tell each other of the fatality of falling into temptations of this country we’re currently living here (I emphasize the work currently here), we tell each other never to forget the place we come from and the responsibilities we have.
Only God knows if we will live the lives we are dreaming off ( I pray every single day that we will.) But one thing we are left with is the heart to fight for that dream and to never forget – NEVER FORGET – because forgetting is the simplest thing the human mind can do, and sometimes the best thing. But Insha Allah, we shall see.
This blog will consist of new posts and hopefully we’ll both be putting up. If not, if will be a place to accumulate all the emails we’ve been sending to each other through out the years (some emails where sent while being in the same campus – but it’s there none the less.) The idea is to get our thoughts organized, to document them, to remind us constantly of the life we desperately want to live.
